Club Champs 2010

Welcome to the Northern Suburbs Triathlon Club (NSTC) webpage.

We are a smaller, friendly club based around the St Ives/Terrey Hills/Forest area. The club was originally the St Ives Triathlon Club and you may still see some references to this. All levels of experience are catered for. Beginners are always welcome and members are only too happy to assist them develop their skills. The focus of most of our members is longer distance events.

Once a month we hold “Transition Training Sessions” which simulate Sprint Distance triathlons in an informal, semi-competitive atmosphere on Sunday mornings or late Saturday afternoon during daylight savings. In the winter months these are replaced by duathlons.  These sessions are a great way for new members to be introduced to the sport and the Club.

It has been in the planning for years, probably months..

You have heard rumours about it..

Excited???

Well here it is!!!

Ooh i can't contain my excitement any longer

The new riding/cycling kit has been finalised & we are ready to take orders

Before you all start inundating & bombarding me with all your orders, we have a new supplier, Champsys, and even better they have their own online shop where you directly order and pay into within a 2 week window of opportunity. Now you are probably coming back to reality after that astounding news, there is procedure you need to follow

1. At this stage we want to open the 2 week window starting on the 29th of January.
2. There will be 2 times where you can try on the products to check sizing, this weekend PRIOR to the TTS, not after, PRIOR, so yes i will be there early this Saturday the 21st, and on Sunday the 29th of January for 2hrs, I will sacrifice training to sit at Pattisons for 2 hrs let anyone who missed out this weekend to try on the kit
Now if you want to come to my house at Warriewood you can also just call me on 0418296119.
3. Once you know your size we will email or you can contact one of your committee members whichever you like, and the code you require to gain access to the NSTC portal @ Champsys will be given to you
4. Once you are in the NSTC shop you will be able to order socks, gloves, arm warmers, knee warmers, long sleeve jerseys, short sleeve jerseys, bib knicks with a different array of chamois, anything to do with cycling.
There will be no Triathlon gear for sale in this style
5. Once you have decided on what you want you will be paying Champsys directly at that time
6. it will take approximately 6 weeks for the total order for the club to be completed and then shipped out to me, which in turn will be distributed out to you when we can arrange this.

Easy???

Why yes, no doubt there will be some questions, please feel free to post here or contact me directly on my mobile/sms, which is up above

There is still stock of the current NSTC triathlon gear at cost price, so if you need anything just let me know

Cheers

 2012 NSTC Training Session Plan

Training sessions  vary throughout the year depending on the season and any major upcoming events. Schedules appear weekly on our club forum, and are updated as they change.

However, the schedule always includes a major bike ride on Saturday mornings, commencing from the car park on Mona Vale Road St Ives (opposite Pattison’s bakery/coffee shop) at 6:30am. This session is medium pace, middle to longish distance, depending on the time of year and what races people are training for. Currently the ride alternates between several routes totalling around 70km, check  club forum. It provides an ideal opportunity to meet and get to know the club and its core members.

During winter months smaller groups ride Friday - mid mornings (the slackers..) and Sunday mornings from Terrey Hills Thai Carpark and also on Sunday mornings. For full details refer to specific topics in the club forum.

We also have the Club “Transition Training Sessions” (approximating sprint triathlon race conditions, but in an informal, semi-competitive atmosphere) that are generally held on a Sunday once a month or late Saturday afternoons during daylight savings. Dates, times and format of the training seesions are available here -TTS Calendar.  These consist of a 500m swim, 15k bike and 4k run and sometimes followed by a breakfast (Sunday mornings) or barbeque (Saturday evenings).

The swim commences at the Terrey Hills Swim School, Myoora Road. Arrive at least 30mins prior to the session start time for registration, course familiarity and transition set up. The bike is held on the low traffic roads out to Duffy’s Forest, and the run up and down Myoora Rd’s footpaths.

The sessions are run on a handicap system, to give everyone a chance to “win”.

 See you out there... Wink
